Organic & SEO Expert

Three members of the Commenda growth team at their desks in the Bangalore office

We are looking for someone exceptionally good at SEO and organic growth. Someone who can figure out what to write, write it, track the progress, take the feedback, improve the process, and close the loop.

Before we start, this job posting isn't for you if you think anime isn't cool. Or that a person shouldn't wear multiple hats (quite literally). Or that one person can't change the world. Or that a month-long project actually takes a month. Or you think this is another 9 to 5.

The problem we are solving is old. The economy has run for a couple of thousand years, and for most of that time, trading across a border was harder than it needed to be. Then, about a thousand years ago in Venice, merchants started using a contract called the commenda. One partner put up the capital. The other sailed with the goods. Both shared the risk. Those voyages funded the trade that funded the Renaissance.

A thousand years later the problem is still here. A company opening its fifth entity still hits a maze of registrations, filings, and deadlines that nobody owns. We took the name for a reason. Commenda is the second Renaissance.

When this works, global business expansion runs through us. We are a fast-moving legal and finance tech company in SF and Bangalore. If you are the person who can take us from 10 to 100, apply.

Who we are

Commenda is automating global entity management and compliance for multinationals. One platform to incorporate, file taxes, and stay compliant across 70+ countries.

Today most companies stitch that together themselves. A law firm in every market, a different point solution for each tax, and a spreadsheet holding the whole thing up. None of it talks to each other. Someone in finance carries it in their head and reopens the laptop at 8pm to check they have not missed a deadline. We replace that with one system that plugs into the ERP.

Entity management, indirect tax, transfer pricing, corporate tax, and employment compliance all run in one place. We are taking on the Big Four in a $200B a year market. We have raised $9M from Bling, Pelion, and UIF. Our customers include Razorpay, Pine Labs, MPL, and Remote.com.

The bar

We already know what goes into organic and SEO. If that is the whole pitch, this is not the role. This job has looked the same for tens of years. We are looking for the person who can make it fun again.

We want what comes after that. The idea nobody asked for.

Someone here got tired of reading organic performance off a spreadsheet and built a solar system instead. Every page is a star. Every internal link is gravity. Clusters glow where the site has real authority, and the dark space shows exactly where it does not. It started as a weekend side quest. We plan link building with it now.

The Commenda Link Atlas, a galaxy view plotting 2,778 pages as stars and 14,838 internal links as gravity, clustered by topic
The Link Atlas. 2,778 pages, 14,838 internal links, clustered by topic. This started as a side quest.

That is the bar. Bring us the unreasonable idea, then go build it.

What you'll do

  • Own organic end to end. SEO and AEO, the whole surface. We will assume you have the fundamentals and spend our time together on the interesting part.
  • Ship it yourself with Claude Code. Site changes, schema, bulk audits, scripts, whatever the idea needs. You will not file a ticket and wait two sprints on an engineer.
  • Build authority the hard way. Digital PR, partnerships, and data-led assets other people are forced to cite.
  • Report on pipeline, not rankings.
  • Run the experiments nobody has run yet. AI search is rewriting this discipline in real time. We would rather be wrong early than right late.

The exact mix shifts as we grow. We are a startup, so you will wear several hats. As you prove you can own this, the scope grows with you.

What we're looking for

We do not care how many years you have done this. We do not care where you went to school, or whether you went at all. We care about what you bring to the table.

  • Ideas. The kind that sound slightly unreasonable when you say them out loud.
  • Proof you shipped them. Something you built, broke, fixed, and can walk us through end to end.
  • Your side quests. The strange project you started at 1am to see whether it would work. Bring those. They tell us more than a title history does.
  • A point of view on how AI search changes the discipline, and evidence you are already testing rather than waiting for someone else to publish the study.
  • Scale that does not scare you. Thousands of pages, several markets, ugly data.

Finance, tax, legal, or accounting audiences are a plus. Never a filter.

You do not need to be an engineer

Worth saying plainly: this is not an engineering role, and nobody will ask about your CS background.

You do need to be shameless about using Claude to build the craziest thing you can picture. If you can describe it, you can ship it. We will ask to see the thing, not the line on your resume.

The team

Everyone here is exceptionally smart and exceptionally good at what they do. That is the point. You will walk into rooms where you are the least experienced person present, and you will grow 3X faster than you ever have.

We are competitive. We are grinders. We are here to change the world, and we are not being cute about it.

This role is in person in Bangalore, from our office.

The form is long. Grab a cup of coffee, put on your thinking hat, and go berserk.
