Software Engineer – Product

We’re automating compliance for multinationals, directly challenging the Big Four accounting firms in a $200B/year market. We offer a rare opportunity to join a small, high-commitment team of 7 engineers where your work will be essential from day one and you will have a massive impact on our growth and our product suite.

We’ve raised $10m in seed funding from Bling, Pelion, and UIF. We’ve been growing rapidly for the last year and our customer base includes Razorpay, Pine Labs, MPL, and Remote.com.

What you’ll do

  • Be accountable for customer outcomes end-to-end. Talk directly to customers, understand their requirements, and figure out the best way to deliver them on top of Commenda’s core tech.
  • Implement, test, and deploy code to production quickly. Go from an idea in the morning to a fully-completed feature in prod before bed.
  • Work closely with a small team of engineers, designers, and product people.
  • Work in our modern tech stack – Next.js, node.js, postgres, AWS

This might be for you if

  • You’re ready to work extremely hard. Our team is extremely committed and we need you to become a full member. We’re taking on some of the largest companies on earth, and we can’t win without some late nights and weekends.
  • You view software as a means to an end. A satisfying day is one where your work leads to a happy customer, a 6-figure contract, or a smooth experience for our ops team.
  • At the same time, you take pride in your craft and want to write good code. You understand that cutting corners now will lead to more work later.
  • You’re a generalist. You don’t need to be an expert in frontend, backend, devops, and security, but you’re comfortable jumping into a new domain and learning quickly.

About the team

We are a small, high-commitment team of 7 software engineers. Your work will be essential from day 1, and you’ll need to hit the ground running. You will work extremely hard and grow extremely quickly. This is not a 9 to 5.

About our culture

  • We are a meritocracy. IIT grads sit next to college dropouts and nobody cares. The only thing we reward is great work.
  • We prioritize issues based on how they will affect our current and future customers. Sometimes this means dropping everything to fix a p0 bug, and sometimes it means spending weeks on a code or infrastructure cleanup. But the prioritization should be based on customer impact.
  • We stay late to help each other when things are on fire, even if our sprint tasks are on track.
  • We help each other grow. We give feedback consistently and take it well.
